Osgood Center for International Studies Professional Development Program
The School of Languages, Cultures and World Affairs is offering students interested in public service, especially foreign service and/or internationally focused careers the opportunity to participate in the Osgood Center for International Studies Professional Development Program.
The Osgood Center for International Studies, a nonpartisan think tank in Washington D.C., is offering two cohort-based structured summer program sessions (start date: June 1 and July 16, 2023, duration approximately 6 weeks) for professional development. The program revolves around a research project designed in consultation with a mentor from the Osgood Center network of international and public affairs professionals. The School of Languages, Cultures and World Affairs and the International Studies Program have partnered with the Osgood Center to provide access to these programs for a select number of our students to attend these courses free of charge.
For the students selected funding will be provided to cover the cost of the program fee (application below). In person attendance in Washington, DC, is also possible for the program starting July 16, subject to coordination with the Osgood Center. Cost for accomodation and travel will the responsibility of the participating student. Limited financial support may be available upon request for students with stated financial needs (See questions on application form for more details).
Eligibility Requirements:
- 3.0 GPA
- Good Academic Standing with the College
- Open to all majors. Preference will be given to students with a major/ minor in LCWA.
