Summer Symposium on Foreign Policy 2023
The School of Languages, Cultures and World Affairs is offering students interested in public service, especially foreign service and/or globally focused civil service the opportunity to participate in the Osgood Center for International Studies’ 2023 Summer Symposium.
The Osgood Center for International Studies, a nonpartisan think tank in Washington D.C., is offering the Summer Symposium on Foreign Policy (July 30 to August 10, 2023) for students, organized with the input and participation of well-known international and public affairs professionals and to be held in a hybrid format (the on-site program to be held in Washington D.C.). The School of Languages, Cultures and World Affairs and the International Studies Program have partnered with the Osgood Center to provide access to these programs for a select number of our students to attend this course.
Students will submit the application and be selected by a committee comprised of school and program faculty. The selection committee will recommend participants to the Dean of LCWA, who will make the final selections. The number of students selected will vary depending on the quality and quantity of applications. Because of our partnership, students are not required to pay the $500 participation fee. Students opting for the in-person program will need to cover the cost of traveling to and lodging in Washington DC. The Osgood Center organizes affordable and attractive housing options. If students opt to participate in person, a subsidy to partially fund the costs of travel may be available to students on an as-needed basis.
Eligibility Requirements:
- 3.0 GPA
- Good Academic Standing with the College
- Open to all majors. Preference will be given to students with a major/ minor in LCWA.
