James F. Snyder European Studies Award

Dr. James Snyder, a distinguished professor for many years in the School of Business, directed many study abroad programs in Europe while at the College. He established this award for students with a declared major in International Studies with a primary focus on Europe. The award is intended for high-achieving students who will participate in a study abroad program in Europe.

The application deadlines

The deadline for applications is 12:00 pm (noon) on April 20, 2023.

Awards may be used on expenses incurred because of participation in the program, such as: airfare, room and board, food, insurance/fees, books, travel and transportation while in Europe. Awards are contingent upon acceptance into the study abroad program. Awards are subject to taxes. The number of awards given will vary and depends on the number of selected students. Students will be given an award of approximately $1,000-1,750. 

Required:
Declared International Studies major.
3.0 GPA in the major and overall. 
In Good Disciplinary Standing with the school. 

Acceptance into a study abroad program in Europe. 
Financial need (FAFSA on file with the CofC Financial Aid Office). Need will be assessed based on the data of the actual pool of applicants rather than based on absolute numbers.
